RuneFest 2016 Lore Q&A

For those without the time to watch the full Lore Q&A session, here's a handy TL;DW!

- Children of Mah

- Discover the truth behind Zamorak's betrayal

- Learn what connects the Mahjarrat and what their goals are

- Sets up a new 6th Age Pillar, the Mahjarrat storyline

- Sliske's Endgame

- Sliske's game draws to a close as the eclipse strikes.

- More than just handing the Stone of Jas to the winner, there's more games at play.

- Learn more about the interactions between gods and their followers

- Outcomes will be different for most players based on choices

- Big questions answered

- Who is Sliske's master?

- What happened to Nomad?

- Who will get the Stone?

- This quest kickstarts the next segment of the 6th Age story, moving into the next stage

- Fully repeatable, allowing you to change your choices.

- The Arc Batch 2

- Less comical than before

- The main villain is the Harbinger ship, captained by Captain Cora (Korra?), so look out for her!

- More Tales than batch 1, but the narrative focus will be more like a single quest split into parts

- Bigger focus on your crew and their explorations (Lookout Ekahi exploring Cyclopes culture on Cyclosis, Jemi bonding with Thalassus, Gully "why no pirates?", Higgs' search for Jacob, and it seems Flippers will have some story too!)

- Story about Stan's "mysterious golden suitcase" might carry on to the Skull when it happens

- Halloween is no longer on the Arc, and is instead "Invention of Disaster".

- Other worlds of Runescape

- Mazcab

- The world was once called Chantli (meaning "Home" but is now Mazcab (meaning "Prison"

- Teci means "To Grind"

- Mazcab was already dying before Tuska, but she made sure it wouldn't recover.

- The Temples are plugs for the leaking Anima, but the knowledge on how to build these Temples are lost

- The Temples are beacons for the Spirit Guardians of Mazcab, like Xinachto (earth) and Yakamaru (water)

- While the Spirit Guardians are similar to Vorago and Telos, they are controlled by a higher purpose - the flow of anima

- Mazcab's magic is "Spirit" magic, unique to the world. Drawing on the spirits of their ancestors.

- A Goebie ripped elemental magic from the world, which caused a number of the leaks in Chantli originally.

- The Enchanted Valley

- Not necessarily a full world, Mod Stu likes the idea that the Enchanted Valley is a home for Dryads, Nymphs, Golems, and Centaurs. The Valley is a shard of another world.

- One possible world is the Fairy homeworld, Cheanannais

- Another possibility is Renmark, the homeworld of the Centaurs

- One of those worlds was hit by a terrible tragedy and Saradomin saved a shard.

- These ideas are planned to be used in an eventual sequel to the Death of Chivalry.

- Infernus

- Hostile world, suitable for demon-kind. Very desert like with massive mountains.

- Cthonian demons can mutate by devouring other beings

- Came to rule by overthrowing the Infernals and stealing their power.

- Heavily paranoid world with a complex legal system.

- Avernic demons are enslaved, as they cannot just be devoured.

- Zamorak liberates the Avernic demons as payment for their loyalty

- Dis is a massive 3 layered city on Infernus.

- Bottom layer is your traditional city, the Lower City. Second layer is the Upper City for the elite. Third layer is the Scorched Keep, built on the ruins of a citadel.

- 19 floors with Gree'gar at the top

- Teragard

- Original human homeworld, extremely cold and harsh.

- It is here Saradomin ascended originally.

- He set up a form of government based around religion.

- Currently 7 ruling families, down from 12 due to some knifey politics.

- We know of two houses on Teragard, House Charron (Oreb is the Magister), and House Lesarkus (Fire Warrior of Lesarkus seems to be a Teragardian Magister!)

- Teragard doesn't use magic like we do. They instead use it from a single power source, all magiscience-y.

- They can manipulate the elements. Fire Warrior manipulating Fire, Oreb manipulating Souls.

- The magic source comes from the Schism, (not an Elder Artefact!) a literal hole to the Abyss. It is also a Portal!

- The human Guthix brought to Gielinor are not directly from Teragard, but from a Colony they formed using the Schism.

- Saradomin found New Domina via the Schism.

- The Magisters have seized control of Teragard using the image of Saradomin, ruling with an iron fist through terror and through an inquisitorial squad.

- The Last Revision

- In this last revision the Elder Gods have really learned that they can *die*.

- Before the Revision, Freneskae was a beautiful world, and the Elders laid their eggs here.

- Mah's egg was damaged a long time ago, and she somehow gained a fascination with creating life. Finally she was "stillborn".

- Jas created the Stone of Jas to try and help fill in for Mah's missing power, but this didn't help quite enough as the planets were worse than usual.

- The Elders split up for the first time, instead of staying together so they could learn more to find the perfect world. This caused the "Elemental paths" of worlds.

- Jas found the Dragonkin on this pass, and found the Dragonkin's homeworld, where they had survived the Revision through the Abyss and returned. They tried to attack her and steal the Stone. So she fused them to the Stone so they wouldn't want it anymore.

- After this, the Elders reunited and made better worlds, finally creating Gielinor.

- Q&A section

- Q: Why did you make a Zaros Godsword? Could it kill the elders? A: It was made cuz it was cool. Power of the God is not related to the power of the Godsword though.

- Q: In WGS, we touched the Stone of Jas but were not the World Guardian. Why weren't we permanently powered? A: Because it's done slowly over time. We briefly touched it.

- Q: You've done time travel in the past. Will we ever go back and bring something from the past back to the present? A: Basically no. We can't go back and "fix" things, these are things that happened and will remain.

- Q: At the end of the RS novels, they go off to do other things. Will we see them again? A: Yes, we already have in some cases, with Jerrod and Kara-Meir for instance. Not a quest or new novel, but the characters may show up again.

- Q: How powerful is the player? A: Strong, but we have more resistance/immunities than raw power.

- Q: Is Menaphos coming? A: No *(Osborne you're a meanie!)*

- Q: Is Brassica Prime the most powerful god of them all? A: Since of course Brassica has the most amazing voice actor, of course he is the strongest! (Raven might be biased)

- Q: What would Zaros do if he stops the Elders? What comes next? A: Who knows? He might not even.

- Q: How do the Mahjarrat deal with not having souls and afterlives? A: Kindred Spirits covers this heavily - Sliske is trying to make yours compatible with him and get a "transplants".
